Sketches
Ode to the Sketchbook
Sketching allows me to be present with the elements of drawing with playfulness and a lack of preciousness.
There’s an immediacy in a sketch that taps into personal power. This process allows me to integrate and metabolize ideas & emotions that often inform next steps for pieces or bodies of work.
Over the years my sketches have developed alongside me. In dark bars, tea shops, new cities and different countries, while gossiping with friends, during quiet evenings, collaborating with loves; while sharing the golden light next to someone no longer here. Sketching lets us capture moments while we're still making sense of them, leaving us with catalogs of our embodied experiences.
When you share your sketchbook, you share your heart. Here are just a few pages of mine. <3
