Wax & Wane is a series of 8 paintings with word sketch counterparts. This body of work emerged from my confrontation with inherited patterns of protection that had become limitations. Working within circles, I explored themes that cycle through vulnerability, relational healing, authenticity, identify reclamation, and releasing old narratives.

These pieces explore the messy, nonlinear process of personal transformation through questions like:

How can holding space for discomfort become a pathway through it?

What emerges when we hold our darkness lightly enough for it to transform?

How can accepting our temporality expand, rather than limit, what we consider possible?

The paintings and word sketches developed as true counterparts, with imagery inspiring words and vice versa. Finding compositional balance within the circular frame served also as metaphor for finding harmony amongst the flux of being and becoming.
